The “Bush-Push” Hits Home

The college football events of June 10, 2010 brought back some memories.  In every odd-numbered year, USC comes to South Bend in mid-October to play at Notre Dame Stadium.  Since we schedule our road trip vacation to Indiana in mid-October, we see this game every two years.  In 2005, we drove to South Bend to see the ND vs. USC game.  This would turn out to be another “Game of the Century”, like so many Notre Dame football games are labeled.  When we arrived in town the day before, we …

Thank God For Our Country

On this Memorial Day of 2010, and soon the 4th of July, we remember those whose sacrifices have made possible our living here.  For over 200 years, God has blessed this nation because of its founding on Him.  What a shame to see those who continue to work to tear it apart, not realizing that they are the recipients of the gift of God here in the US.  If they say that the flag is a divisive symbol….well, let it be divisive, and right in your face.  This picture shows …

“One Small Step” Back In 2004

Here’s a link to a video that was shot of my first skydiving jump back in 2004. What a blast this was!! It’s something that I had always wanted to do, and I finally went ahead and did it. We jumped from about 13,000 feet where the air was cold, clear and clean. There was a freefall of about a minute, and then we popped the chute when we were in the cloud layer. An Incredible 20-Year Gift!

For the entire first week of February 2010, Joyce and I were treated to a cruise of several Caribbean islands aboard the Wind Surf sailing ship, starting and ending from Barbados. This trip was given to us as a complete surprise by owner/president Dean Schreiner at the company Christmas party in honor of my 20th anniversary at Coastal Computer Corporation, now dESCO, LLC.  Tim Brooks and I were hired at the same time by Dean, so he and Kim, Dean and Janie, and Joyce and I made the trip together.  …
